Property owners: Big impact for nature-positive guide

Sector: Real estate and management
Businesses: Property owners

In light of increased sustainability requirements and new environmental laws, the Real Estate Association saw a need for support in managing biodiversity. To help their members understand and reduce their impact on nature, they developed a practical guide with the help of Ecogain.

Ecogain produced an industry guide that maps the impacts of the real estate sector on biodiversity, focusing on material extraction, construction, operation and waste management. The guide is intended as an introduction for property owners to understand their dependencies and impacts, and identify risks and opportunities related to biodiversity. It also helps to implement nature-positive solutions in their operations and highlights important synergies such as climate adaptation and social values.

Important guidance on biodiversity issues

The guide has quickly become a valued resource in the industry and is an important step towards integrating biodiversity as a central part of sustainability strategies in the real estate industry. By working with Ecogain, the Swedish Property Federation has created the conditions for long-term and sustainable value development, both for its members and for society at large.
