"More people will see the value of investing in a living nature"

After a close vote in the European Parliament, the EU's controversial nature restoration proposal has finally been adopted, despite strong opposition from right-wing parties. By 336 votes to 300, the Parliament approved the proposal, which now marks the start of negotiations with EU member states. "Despite some compromises and continued challenges, this is an important message," said Ecogain's CEO Katarina Walter.

- "The new Nature Restoration Act will have a major impact on biodiversity in Europe. This is a historic day," says Katarina Walter.

Important step to help more people see the business value of investing in biodiversity

The sustainable restoration of a resilient and biodiverse natural environment is essential for our very existence, as the scientific community agrees. But critics have expressed concerns about the law's impact on the economy and the need for further improvements. Ecogain's CEO believes that the EU Parliament's decision is nevertheless an important step forward and an opportunity to show more people that this will not hamper economic development.

- It is just the opposite. For over 20 years, Ecogain has helped companies in the transition to sustainable business and with a focus on biodiversity. Our customers see the value of investing in a living nature, with increased business benefits, increased climate benefits and strengthened brand as a result. Even more will now realize this," says Katarina Walter.
