Ecogain dresses power plants in fall colors

Biodiversity on land too

Ecogain has now been commissioned to propose measures for biodiversity on Fortum's properties in connection with eight power plant dams in the lower reaches of the river Klarälven.

This includes everything from changing the way Fortum manages its lawns to creating conditions for higher nature values in the forest and contributing to more leafy environments.

Working towards the UN Global Goals

In a next step, measures may be applied in more places, and on a larger scale. The work we are now doing together with Fortum is a valuable contribution to the work towards the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, especially regarding ecosystems and biodiversity.

Our consultants Cajsa Björkén and Åsa Granberg do the work.

"It's really great that Fortum wants to take the lead and work with voluntary measures for biodiversity," says Cajsa.
