Rise & Ecogain nominated for Achievement of the Year for the Eko-Sol project in the Solar Energy Awards 2023

The Solar Energy Prize has been awarded by the Swedish Solar Energy Association since 2004 and is awarded in the categories of Site of the Year, Building of the Year and Achievement of the Year. The three prizes are awarded each year to facilities, companies or individuals "whose achievements are worth highlighting as good examples to be inspired by."

The Eko-So project, run by Ecogain and Rise, has mapped how solar parks are planned in Sweden today and how they can be designed to benefit biodiversity and ecosystem services. By combining national and international experiences, a handbook for the design of ecologically sustainable solar parks has been developed.

We are very pleased to be nominated for this year's achievement. There is great potential for combining energy production with biodiversity solutions in solar parks. In addition, there is a strong interest in biodiversity in the solar industry. We hope that our work will help many players in the industry to create solar parks that are bursting with life," says Ida Pettersson, Project Manager Ecogain.

All nominees can be found on the Swedish Solar Energy website and here you can download the handbook.
